Boys, I'm starting to think that we are the 3 biggest losers here. Look at our rankings. Aren't we ashamed to be where we are now? Ok, I know it's still early and there's lot of hockey left, but do you guys know that we were the 3 biggest talkers in this contest, and look where we stand now. How embarrassing. I just hope that one of us can end up in the top 20, and all 3 of us end up in the top 100, in order to not embarrass ourselves

All my picks were suppose to win tonight!

Boston lets in a goal with 3 mins left to cause my UNDER to lose...

Dallas had to score an empty net goal with 17 secs left to force my UNDER to lose.

Leafs had a 3-0 lead but allows LA to score 3 goals in the 3rd and I lose my UNDER.

I had Ducks +0.5, Anaheim led 2-0 but somehow (obviously) had to lose in OVERTIME.

Nashville kept it close until the 3rd and blew my +1.5 (probably the only game which wasn't close)...

Last but not least my only winner was my home team CANUCKS!

 

Sick Gambler you can say there is plenty of hockey left, but realistically the odds of one of us 3 making the top 5 is slim to none.

Lets put it this way...

The opposition has just scored 4 goals against us in a do-or-die game and the First period is over.

We need some lucky bounces now...

ivan, first of all, when we all started this contest, our chances of winning this thing was like being down 4-0 end of 1st period, seeing there were 170 players in this contest. But now that we are trailing, it is just like we're down 4-0 with 13 minutes to go in the 2nd period.

If our odds were 1/170 before. I would say now our odds of winning is about 1/225. So as you see, we are still in this thing. The season is only 15 games in out of the 82 game season. That's only 18% of the season. We still have another 82% left.

But just think of this, if we can be down 30 units to the leader in 15 games, why can't we make up 30 games in the next 67 games.

Don't worry buddy, this game is far from over. I've figured out that there is 136 hockey days left.

Lets say you bet 6 games a day each day. That means that there is 816 plays left in you. You now have to get a little hot if you expect to win this baby. So if you hit 58% of those 816 plays, you will go 473-342. That means that you will pick up 131 units. You are -6 units now. So that means that you will end up +125 units, which would win you this thing, easily, as the winner will have about +65-70 units. So you can basically even hit 56% and you will still win it. So just hit 56% buddy, and you will bring home the cash to Vancouver, BC, Canada.

So start picking winners and just hit 56% the rest of the way, and forget about the past, and lets start fresh Wednesday.

i have news for you buddy. If you pick one game a day till you hit .500, you will NEVER win this thing. You will have a 0% chance of winning this contest. Even if you hit 70% the rest of the way at one game a day, you will still fall short. I'm trying to help you man. You have too many units to make up. 1 game a day won't do. You have to hit 56% of 800 games. NOT 73% of 140 games.

Think about what you're doing man, I don't want you to cost yourself, because this is NOT a smart move you are making, believe me. If you were 25 units in 1st place, then that would be a different story, but you are now trying to catch 130 contestants here, and 1 game a day just won't cut it.

I can't find my name in the standings. I started posting last week, was there a deadline?

I read the rules but I just never had any plays before October 13. I realize there's probably a cut off to limit the number of users so there are not too many. Posting a pick is anyone's discretion and there is no rule stating one must make at least a certain # of plays per day/week/mos. My first picks being a week ago puts me at a disadvantage which is my consequence, but isn't unfair to others. I am not benefiting by waiting to make my selections. Please consider my point and see if you could accept my entry as a participant. Thanks
